Lasso 8.6 Stopped Working After Java Update on Windows
 

LJAPI(Java) functionality is enabled by default in Lasso Professional 8.6. On occasion, the Microsoft Windows automatic update will break Java functionality in Lasso. Symptoms include an error on Lasso start up (in console mode) or the service "hanging."

To determine if a Java update caused an issue:

  1. Stop the Lasso Service
  2. Navigate to: C:\Program Files\OmniPilot Software\Lasso Professional 8
  3. Run LassoService.exe
  4. Look for Java error in the console.

To fix Java update:

  1. Uninstall Microsoft Windows Java update
  2. Download and install latest Java (http://www.oracle.com/us/technologies/java/standard-edition/overview/index.html)
  3. Restart Lasso
